Active learning

We believe that learning continues outside of the standard school day.  For this reason there are a range of additional activities that bring “active learning”.

After school clubs extend our school day from 3.45 to 5pm. The children often love to stay the extra time to enjoy a choice of activities which may include rifle shooting, cookery, art and sport and football club. Clubs are chosen as a chance to celebrate areas of strength for our children. At lunchtime there are occasionally other clubs that children may opt into if they wish; we are currently offering model plane making, Warhammer, judo and drumming.

Playtime is down-time and our play apparatus has been chosen to be slightly challenging for the sporty, active pupils but also easily accessible for less confident and dyspraxic children.

The Unicorn School loves to take children out on trips – read more about them here.
