Admissions
Parents initially visit and look round without the pupil. Pupils attend for two trial days to see if they like the school and to give the staff chance to informally assess the child. References will be taken from the previous school often by phone prior to registration. Passing on of special needs information will be requested.
A registration fee of £50 is payable on registration. On confirmation of a place a 10% deposit on the first term’s fees is required. This is refundable at the end of the last term at the Unicorn. .
Prior to the child’s attendance at the school, the parents or guardian must complete and sign a contract and registration forms. This provides the school with the following vital information.
- Name, home address and date of birth
- Starting date
- Arrangements for fee payment
- Name and address and telephone number of parents or carers
- Emergency telephone contacts
- Special diets
- Arrangements for collection
- Name and address of the child’s doctor
- Illness and inoculation details
- Details of any allergies
- Parental consent for emergency procedures
Parents will also be asked to provide the school with any further information which they feel will enable the school to take the best care of their child. This should include any particular problems that worry the parents and any medical conditions that need to be noted.
